We build wealth literacy through funding initiatives we think are great investments in the wealth literacy space based on our criteria. The following are some examples of some current and prospective projects, in addition to those we continue to pursue through our own community.
There are 42 million families affected by a family member with special needs and special needs planning is an underserved constituency, irrespective of economic status. Through an arrangement with Brookes Publishing and AI developer CSIsim, the Foundation is creating an avatar based AI program for Special Needs families based on the book by Sequoia Financial Group Partners, Cindy Haddad and Joh Nadworny. The program will allow a network of tens of thousands families, educators and financial advisors to interact with the author on anything in the book, as well as reliable outside resources.
Small Good Choices is a Kaizen type approach to financial planning that gives user a simple actionable idea to incorporate into their daily financial lives. It provides financial planners, educators, business owners and families with access to an on demand knowledge system. Using the idea of Kaizen (continuous improvement), SGC encourages users to make incremental changes. Proposed delivery systems are a weekly e-mail drop, a web page with the choices, or a ‘SGC of the Week’. SGC currently has over 60 parts, with 40 more in the works.
Very few families memorialize the values and ideas of the prior generations---knowledge that could be passed on to heirs through custom packages designed and administered by family office managers, wealth advisors and financial planners or developed by clients themselves. The Family Constitution Project is a template to generate a statement of family values, family ideas, history and more importantly, how the family dynamic meshes with the dimensions of Wealth. As families grow and change the Family Constitution becomes a living document and changes with the generations. The FC can include such topics as:
